Description: This Berry is large and spicy. When eaten during the cold season, it warms the body from inside.

This berry is mainly spicy, which makes it a favorite of mine, but also contains a dry flavor. The spiciness overpowers the dryness so I eat it with no problem. I would give it a 3 on the spiciness meter and a 1 on the dryness meter.

There is a move called Natural Gift where the Pokémon draws power from the berry they are holding. When holding a Tamato berry a Pokémon can use a Psychic type move with the power of 70.

In Hoenn, there are four Contest Halls where trainers enter their Pokémon to compete in contests where they perform moves to appeal to the judges. There are Cool Contests, Smart Contests, Tough Contests, Beauty Contests, and Cute Contests. The best Pokémon in show wins a ribbon! At the Contest Halls in Verdanturf, Fallarbor, Slateport, and Lilycove there are Berry Blenders for trainers to make a tasty candy like treat called a Pokéblock that they feed their Pokémon to increase their Coolness, Smartness, Toughness, Beauty, and Cuteness. The color of the Pokéblock determines which stat gets raised. With Tamato berries you get Purple Pokéblocks at each Contest Hall. Purple Pokéblocks raise Coolness and another attribute, probably Beauty in the Tamato's case.

Pokémon Contests are also held in the Sinnoh region, but instead of feeding their Pokémon Pokéblocks trainers feed their Pokémon Poffins. These tasty snacks are made by cooking berries in batter to make a little bun. Cooking up Tamato berries will give you a Spicy-Dry Poffin. That sounds really tasty! Next time I get Tamato berries, I'm going to bring them to someone who can make Poffins.
