Here's the fire pumpkin's bad day. I took over a hundred pictures of the burn, but this is one of the ones I really liked.Fire's really hard to photograph! I'm happy with how this came out, though.
I put a pie tin with some crumpled-up paper towels in it, then soaked the whole lot in a -lot- of lighter fluid. Then I threw a match at it and stood back. Naturally, tripod shot.

Knock yourself out - it's a perennial favourite, it seems. I'll have another, slightly more pyrotechnic one for 2008 before much longer!

I've been telling people about this picture, and another one I found on here with a vomiting pumpkin. Its almost enough to force me to face my fear of working with sharp knives, cause I do like setting things on fire

Next year I'm planning on hooking up a propane-fueled weed burner to do a longer-lasting burn, so this can be more of a display pumpkin. The flames lasted about five minutes, and I got more than 100 pictures of the burn.
This is the first year I've done purely "photo pumpkins," with this and the Aperture Science one. I might refine the Aperture one so that it can look Portal-ish in real life too, but who knows, eh?
