Description
This is my second picture for my Senior Art Studio project in highschool. I'm doing a series of mermaids! Comments and CRITIQUES welcome! : )Sorry for the red tint of this picture. I couldn't take it out.
Mediums: Watercolor, acrylic, colored pencils, toothbrush (splatter effects)

If you are having serious trouble with scanners, sometimes useing a high res digital camera can help you get a better image of the picture, especially if you have good lighting conditions. 
The arms are a little sausagey, especially the top one. The gesture is nice, but remember that there are bones in there some some straightish forms will be applicable, usually around the wrist area where the bones are closer to the skin.
Over all the composition is nice and the movement is very graceful. The colors seem a little undersaturated for the "intensity" of the subject, but it could just be the scanner that did that.
The details on the fin and in the hair leave something to be desired for me. The rest of the image seems so painterly, so fluid. The sketchy lines of the hair and fins disrupt that feeling a little. More so the hair that falls in front of her than the hair diretly around her head.

The only thing I have to say is that her right arm looks a bit like rubber, the way it bends.

I tried to make a flowly piece, so the arm is probably distorted. When I tried to make the body accurate and not flowy, she was way too stiff! So I just let loose and made the body in 10 min instead of 4 hours. XD
