I've been reading It's Superman by Tom DeHaven on and off for the past few months, which is a Clark Kent-focused novel set in the 1930s. Personally, I've always preferred the down-home version of the character, which is pretty different from what's in the DC universe at the moment.

Who knows, maybe the producers thought it would cop too many Captain America tropes? In any case, I'm just going to go rewatch the 2001 animated Justice League cartoon again.
