Hitmonchan can attack with a succession of strikes so fast that you cannot capture them on film without increasing the frame rate and playing the footage back at normal speed (creating slow motion for all you non-film savvy folks out there).Loosely based on an orchid mantis and ambush bugs. I've definitely gotten past a majority of the pokemon easily based on real animals. These other guys are more fun though, I get to let my creative juices flow.

Hitmonchan isn't an insect type. This picture is awesome, but it isn't cool to make up something to make you sound like you know what you're talking about.

I think it's fairly obvious that I couldn't care less about staying faithful to any official pokemon canon and it's unfortunate that this offends so many people, but i'll keep my judgements to myself.

I LOVE this version! It reminds me of Manny from A Bug's life. The mantis idea really works, particularly because it's plausible for that kind of animal to deliver super-fast strikes with its forelimbs. I actually remember thinking hitmonchan was an evolved from of scyther when I first saw it.
And this version is spiky, too. This is incredible. I love this.

Is it just me or are this guy's arms supposed to look like praying mantis arms with the 'gloves' in place of the claws? If you meant to do that, I wouldn't have thought of that if I were doing this myself and it's a cool idea.

Now this guy here is really cool. I wouldn't mind coming across it in the wild. I like the different colored and shaped shells to be in place of the clothes and boxing gloves.
