A2 sheet of Bristol board and a variety of mech and wooded pencils.
I'm not sure how long it took me but it was a while
EDIT: I adjusted the brightness of the picture, hopefully you'll be able to see the detail better.

str8 to my faves. the hair is the first thing that jumped out the page and also the jacket and then the rest. are you sure you only used pencils and not charcoal cause i cant achieve that depth of black with just pencils. Teach me

yep just pencils...The really black black is a 9B derwent graphic pencil with a lot of overlapping and pressure

wow thanks for the quick reply and the helpful information. yeah i use 9B Derwent as well i think your right it does come down to the paper. BUt im at this stage im mainly experimenting with "Mont Marte" Black and white charcoal pencils. i finished a drg using Bristol smooth for the first time today not too happy with the texture of the paper. and its a beige colour. yeah i never touch the paper with my hands ( cause of the oily residue). I blend using "blending stumps" and tissue for larger areas. and i always keep a paper under my hand to prevent smudging. oh well thanks anyways i look forward to your future artwork. keep up the good work!!
