This Pokemon is legendary because of its unique association with time. It is believed Dialga's elongated head contains an organ that can interact with tachyons. The jewel-like growth on the chest gathers this matter, and the Pokemon does with it as it wishes. The gathering of tachyons causes translucent, fluid-filled areas of the body to glow. There have also been reports of the dorsal pelvic plate growing during tachyon gathering. Despite lack of wings, Dialga can fly through means of levitation.
