Description
Who was once an counter-stereotype has now become a cliche. How tragic!This is just a quick pic to keep me sane. I realized that there isn't enought time to draw everything I want, so I might develop a more stylized, less detailed, cartoony style. (look, I slightly stole Mignola for the props!)

Tragic indeed. Though in my opinion, bitching too much about clichés has become a common thing for people nowadays. In the end, counter-stereotypes end up becoming clichés anyway, so I think we should all stop-bitching about it as much.

You are sadly rigth, nowadays the character has become the stereotype... but Moorcock and Elric will always be the pioneers, and that should count... I guess.

Well, this is the first time someone I don't know has called me a big nerd then. Oh well, I liked the books (Thank god I read them before characters like him became the norm. Or at least befor being exposed to other media with characters like him).

I love this! There really isn't enough appreciation for Elric! Although he is pretty depressing, haha. I found myself like Ulric Von Bek better (Did you read Dreamthief's Daughter!? It's awesome! My favorite). Although technically he's still Elric? Well, the multiverse is kind of confusing to me. Anyway, awesome picture! *favs*

Yeah! Well, it's on IMDB anyway. I suppose it could still end up not being made, I don't know if they've started filming yet or not. But it does have Micheal Moorcock listed as the writer and the producer, so I hope it will be pretty good, if it does happen.

I must admit that it pisses me off to no end when people refer to the things that, pretty much, started an entire literary concept as cliché.
It's sort of like when some little shit has the nerve to call Tolkien unoriginal. Makes you want to do cause them horrible bodily harm, it does.

Great picture, elric is the best, and I love your rendition of Stormbringer. I always thought Elric should be made into an anime, the story seems to lend itself to the genre. (p.s. I'm an even bigger nerd because I like Hawkmoon better!)

Im not sure i understand that statment.
I drew fanart of this charater.. WAY back, i tried to get all the books BUT! barns and nobles didn't have "all" of them.. gay. So yeah I always thought Elric was cool, still do actully. he was the one to start think up more "dark heros" and or "anit-heros".. whichever. Stormbringer was the coolest soul eatting sword ever.
Id post the fan art i did... but its soo lame. Might try and draw him up agian thou, after seeing this cool picture of him. Im glad you made the blade skinny and such, i always thought the covers art with him holding a rather large sword... didn't make sense.

Um, I'm not even gonna try to remember how the title's spelled, but Elric the Albino with the soul sucking sword? Damn, I started reading the first one when I was, like, 12...I got four chapters in and never read any more. I have the first one and "Weird of the White Wolf" or something like that...I have to go dig it up again...I got them at a Thrift Store.
So, I'm not gonna lie...that's reeeeeeaaaallly hot. XD And I'm glad his hair's not all...poofy. It makes me happy inside!
