Style guide for this was definitely Wayne Barlowe's glowing, subdued aesthetics, as well as Peter Morbacher's floating metal ornamentation.
An assignment for Environment class. I was allowed to try a fish eye lens effect!

Trivia 1: the guidelines for the perspective looked so demented that they ended up as the sigil lines on the ground.
Trivia 2: the twelve-fingered giant angel depicted here is one of the Ophanim, and is an obscure original character I drew last in 2004!
Trivia 3: it really sucks to be a tiny regular human soul when getting struck by lightning after you're already dead.
