This is just what the title says: it was made just for fun, maybe 5 years ago, maybe less. I coloured it with my niece's school pencils (she was around 10 y.o.), an afternoon when we all were at my sister in law's. Nothing special at all, but I enjoyed it so much, and in fact it was my 1st attempt of colouring after ... my high-school days? It was not supposed to be pink where it should be white, but the enhancing during the scanning process made it necessary, in order to have all the other colours really same as the original ones. I think it fits very well the mood of this 1st spring week end. Have a nice spring, everybody!Original lineart from here
Questo non è altro che quello che il titolo dice: fu fatto per gioco, forse 5 anni fa o meno. Lo colorai coi colori di scuola di mia nipote, che avrà avuto 10 anni, un pomeriggio in cui eravamo a casa di mia cognata. Niente di speciale, ma mi sono divertita tanto, e in effetti fu il mio primo tentativo di colorare dopo ... i miei anni della scuola? Non avrebbe dovuto essere così rosa dove ci si aspetta che sia bianco, ma l'esaltazione dei colori durante la scansione ha prodotto questo effetto, ed è stato necessario tenerlo per avere tutti gli altri colori il più simile possibile all'originale. Credo che si accordi molto bene allo stato d'animo di questo primo week end di primavera. Buona primavera a tutti!

I love all those wonderful artwork portraying children and animals. Those idyllic environment I remember when I myself was a child. It somehow seems so be the wonderful land , back then I remember.
They all make me soo....warm in my heart, a warm feeling that always will transfer my mind to a different state of mind, the best there is, just happiness , serenity, purity, simplicity and peace

Dear friend, thank you very much for your lovely comment and for the fave! Yes, I used to love such images when I was young, and they were very fashionable back then. But I can't even think of such a fabulous environment in real life: I know countryside, and it may be very romantic, but here in Italy, despite postcards, countryside usually doesn't look at all as it does in such artworks! And I've always lived in a large town, so I used to relate such idyllic images to holidays or to children living in small villages in the past. Which probably was exactly what they were meant to represent. I was a girl who used to dream a lot, and they helped very much (... I admit I started dreaming a lot again when I decided to write and draw again!).

What do you mean that the country side does not look like an idyll ? I have seen films from Toscana and it look great I Think, but maybe it is fewer areas that is remaining like this, that is, have this idyllic look ?
I understood from the beginning that you have coloring this artwork, and that one can do it if one like themselves. But still, seeing your coloring is Beautiful ,and seeing the gesture, the girl stretching forward with the flower so the Little puppy can feel the scent from it make me warm in my heart. I Think we all need to remember times like this, the feeling from kind-hearted gestures like the above described, because otherwise we may stiffen up as time passing by, and later on end up like a machine part in a bigger machinery, which is not what Life is meant to be from the beginning, at least not seen from our own perspective and best of interest I mean.
Anyway, artworks like this symbolise something that more people should keep near the heart and feel, I Believe it. Children have it I think, and they are Amazing so...

Dear Peter, your question is not easy to answer to. When I think of countryside, I don't think about nice landscapes and lovely spots, I think about hard work, and smells we are not used to anymore, and long hours of efforts in order to get food and other things. I have the highest respect for peasans.
Of course, Tuscany is exactly as you imagine it, but you must always remember that Tuscan skyline has been attentively built to look like that. It's not just the product of the fields, because the trees planted right on top of the hills are there just to look beautiful, and the houses which seems to hide but not too much in the trees of a garden, are meant to look "Tuscan". I mean, it's art inspiring other forms of art, like painting or cinema.
There are other regions in Italy, that are wonderful and much less known: Umbria, Marche, Campania (less known just under this aspect), Emilia Romagna, Abruzzo. In places like Umbria or Campania, and mainly Abruzzo, maybe nature was left free to perform more than in Tuscany, but for example in Campania there are many of the greatest royal palaces (and gardens) of Italy.
I live in a wonderful country, Italian landscape is protected by our Constitution. Not enough, I must complain. We have a lovely weather in many places, and many volcanoes that made the land productive, and wonderful plains and amazing hills (and fabulous mountains and coasts, but that's another story). But it often happened in history that we were too many for the land to feed everyone, and many people had to search for a living abroad, mostly in America. It was awfully hard. And now, in this modern world of ours, country work and traditional productions need to be much more protected and dignified than they actually are.
Countrylife is very relaxing for those who go there on holiday, I think (and not everyone is fit for country vacations). But as a child I was as lucky as knowing very well a woman coming from a family of peasans, and she helped me to recognize the value of an insect, of a tree, of a leaf. And also to see countrylife as it really is: nothing romantic, sometimes.
Forgive my too long speech and my not good English, I think there are some mistakes here ...
But you are right: there is something pure in the idea of communication between a child and a puppy, something precious in a little girl lying in the sun on the grass, with a flower in her hand and a dog close to her . I never thought it over, I just found that lineart among others (equally lovely), and decided to colour it! Ant it's true that we were born to be like that.
I'm looking forward to your new works, so contemplative and meaningful. Yes, I love silent and lonely places, but you know, I live in a very large and noisy town! And I must confess, I am not fit for living in isolation. I love to have the city around me, in day by day life. I feel safer, maybe because I never had a driving licence! But almost 4 years have passed since I last could afford a vacation, now I'd love to have such project for the immediate future, and I can't have it this year either. You can't even imagine how beautiful and "strong" the seaside can be here, in the Mediterranean, if you've never been here.

It is Amazing what you just describe to me 
I have also the possibility to be around the country side when I was Little, and still have. It is the Place were most of the photos is taken on my gallery here on DA.
It is cool summers often in northern Sweden, but July can have some hot days and thunder storms.
I often picking cloudberries, blueberries, lingonberries. And fishing with fishing rod as well as net if I have the possibility to be there at the autumns. ( White fish is the fish we got then, but some pike and bass can also be caught in the net. And it looking pretty much like one of my aquarelles painted with neutral tint )
I Think about what you wrote around the Children and puppy, yes, I Think so to. I have this that i do not Think that only it looking cute like most do, but I really feel my state of mind alternate so it is like being a completely different person to the better, like I am very happy inside. I have got the same ability to connect to Children in a Deep level as my grandmother did have. I am the only who have got it in my family. But really, it is not so magical, although I understood how to be against Children when I saw how my grandmother was against me. it is just to love them from the heart, and be a genuinely kind-hearted person with a Clear conscience. Children see who is good and not and who love them and not, and in what way. I have worked with Children during a part time of my Life in a kindergarten, and I really think that was an Amazing time, the best time in my Life actually, the children was so kind-hearted to me so it really affect me a lot, and they really like/love me because I like/love them all very much. Animals are almost the same as children. My Twin brother love animals and has a very good touch with them and have taken care of the ones we have to a larger extent. My older brother is good at handle retards, with mental disabilities and have work with that. And my mom love older and have work with that. My dad love economy and have work with that. So different natural skills in my family.

It was something from my childhood: those drawings, made with "Sarah Kay" copyright (along with other brands), used to decorate school items, stickers, and lots of things we little girls liked very much.
