Sadly yes. We were able to buy new Ladas years (+10) ago, but not anymore. They are gone. I'm sure the owners can buy parts from the web.
There are some clubs for the Niva, though.

Hopefully, when this sanctions story is over, car export will go back to Canada. Nivas have been significantly upgraded recently.
Also, Chevrolet Niva is pretty much the same car in different body, but, unfirtunately, GM doesn't sell them in the Americas.

We can still import any car which is 12 years old. You must know about this.
You have to know that the market for SUVs and crossovers is very competitive here in North America. Most of users don't use them for offroad. Jeep is the brand of choice for that matter. So, I'm afraid that unless there is a demand for Nivas here, they won't sell new ones. Only import which apparently is an headache or buy a used one.
