Beautiful.

I love how much emotion you bring into your paintings.
This somewhat reminds me of one of my favorite quotes... I really adore it.
Because 93% of the mass in our body is stardust.

"For someone who was never meant for this world, I must confess I'm suddenly having a hard time leaving it. Of course, they say every atom in our bodies was once part of a star. Maybe I'm not leaving... maybe I'm going home."

Though it's from a movie, it really bring back to mind the wonder that is the body, humans, animals and even plants and fungus alike.. Probably one of the main reasons I've decided to do a science degree.

Thanks for sharing this. It's amazing.

thank you. my chemistry lecturer and homegroup tutor died recently, and the day before he said to us the exact same thing; 'we all came from stardust', and it's a stupidly sentimental thing to carry with me now, but everything about him and that day reminds me now of the fragilities of life and how everything is almost inexplicably and intricately interconnected in the largest of ways by the most incomprehensibly small or seemingly unrelated of things.

I'm sorry to hear about the passing of your tutor. Grief is a strange thing, and makes us hold onto things we otherwise wouldn't remember, I lost a friend of mine about a month ago..

The idea that stardust is what connects each and every person on this world, and every world within the universe, is a beautiful thing. Otherworldly.
The idea that a stars death millions of years ago can go to create those people that impact us on an emotional level is intense.

We're all connected by these tiny atoms, which can not only create beautiful things, but has the power to make that which destroys us.

I love how the background looks like smoke and space and as though she is dissolving into it.
And those hands are just perfect.

i don't know whether maybe you think i was being metaphoric but the chemicals that make up the composition of the human body will kill you if in abundance or reaction. everything that gives us life is subject to ruin. thank you for the kind words nonetheless, i appreciate it <3

WRONG! You think that what makes you, are those red fleshy parts, with white bones, and meat on it. But that's not what i would like to believe in. If you tear my hand off, i'd still be me. if you sell my heart to someone. I'd die, but surely i'd live on for 2 secs, without that heart. Myself is the person, watchin over the silver colored world. bearing that silver colored soul within. Existence for you may be that red blood and flesh, which of cannibals sometimes feed on. For me, i'd like to know that i'm better than that. i exist

i think that possibly you misconstrue my meaning. regardless of whether there is or isn't a soul (as it is not my place to comment on whether there is, or isn't) the chemicals that make those 'red fleshy parts' can also cause decay. i'm not speaking from an esoteric stand-point, only about matters of the body. matters of the mind are completely difference and incontinently, the same thing, this shouldn't contradict what life means to you. you do exist, it doesn't matter how big or small you are in comparison to whatever else lies out there in the universe, to question your own existence is to know it alltogether. never fear <3

heh what is life to you? something that begins and ends? if thats so, im no more equppied to explain than you are to understand. Naw im wrong. Explain what?! Matters of the mind are straight forward goin to the matters of the body. Cause if you have alzheimer's you are not gonna have anything goin in your mind. whether it's your place or not to comment about the soul its up to you to decide, but i want to believe that thing engraved in your soul would stay there. Chemicals rotting me from time to time? I damn eat them for breakfast. LITERALLY!

RubyWolfe In reply to VeriFast [2011-10-09 13:55:33 +0000 UTC]

honestly, i don't care what you want to believe. it's nothing to do with me and nothing to do with this piece. you've created an esoteric argument where there is none, your questions or your faith are completely irrelivant to this picture and i'm getting tired trying to explain it to you because i don't know whether you're being intentionally argumentative or just ignorant. i don't mean to cause offense but i'm not going to reply to this anymore unless you actually have something to say that isn't taking what i've said completely out of context. nevertheless i am grateful for the kind words.
