Description This is something I've been working on for a while now, about 2 weeks actually. I took my time with her in general but in particular, a major incident with my car and then work kept me from finishing her. I will...or at least I mean to, go back and touch up her watery effect around her. It's done in watercolor pencils and I have put like 5-6 layers on and I can't quite get it to look at awesome as the old one I did a few months back BUT I don't have the time or patience for this right now, I have to run. Let me know what you guys think.

Also, yes, I made her hair too long, but remember her pregnancy is frozen, so she ages, the baby does. So consider her 14 months pregnant, hence the longer hair.Β

I actually like the water as it is. It's very ethereal <3 And it may sound strange, but he curve in her pointed foot is very elegant with the rest of her pose~ You did exceptionally well with all the highlights as well.Β

Wow, really? You think so? I still kinda hate this one. I know it's like just me, but I feel her torso is too long, but I know it's because the leggings she's wearing are pulled down to bellow her waist line, due to her belly being rather...massive. It just feels unnatural to me. I actually am proud of her hands and feet, her face isn't bad in this one either. I don't know. I did go back and darker her up, I should scan it and put it on DA. I learned how to make her look a little more Mestizo.

But thank you, such praise for a piece that I have such hatred for, makes me chuckle a bit on the irony that others like it while I don't.Β

I like the dainty pose you put her in.

Thank you, I feel she turned out pretty well but I kinda want to add some more to her. The water just doesn't look great to me.Β

She's sexy and fine. Personally I like her hair better like this. Love the shading on her bump and shoulders. I notice a lot of your more recent works have this pale yellow-brown texture to them in the background. Do you draw that, or is that how the papers comes? Either way, nice work!

Ugh, first, bump. Don't use that word. That is the grossest way to describe a pregnant belly. I hate how the English use that term constantly. I also hate the way the English talk cuz I can't understand them so that might have something to do with my hatred for their unique vocabulary. May also have to do with my area of the US having a profound dialect and accent that apparently no one can understand. Legit, I went to Massachusetts once, no one could understand me.

Though thanks for taking notice of the shading on her. As for the paper, let me link you to what I used....

www.dickblick.com/products/str…

I find that for just amazing colored pencil drawings, Strathmore toned grey paper is unbeatable. The only drawback which I can totally fucking live with is that the paper has lines and like stuff of its material showing through. That actually works well when it comes time to blend, like look at Alice's skin, it blends and makes the colors pop much, much easier. However, look at her left breast or her exposed ear. Some of the lines in the paper, like the stuff it's made out of, can't be overpowered entirely. I put a strand of brown hair over by Alice's ear to cover it up better but you can see the line at the top of her breast. Know what I mean?Β

And her hair...I may experiment more with her hair but I didn't want it to be terribly long. Like, Mira has hair for days, is short, petite, fiery, pale as fuck, blonde haired, blue eyed, while Alice is Hispanic, taller, aggressive but not like Mira levels, and has dark brown hair and rich hazel eyes. I want them to stay physically apart to just make it easier for me write about them. If they start to look too similar, their stories and personalities might become too similar. Know what I mean?Β

I'm from the US, but I love British English accents, not to mention I'm a huge Monty Python fan. "Bump" referencing a pregnant belly is not exclusively a British English expression, I've heard it said by many people in my area. Maybe it originated in the UK, but it's common vernacular in other places now.

Yeah I see what you mean about keeping Mira and Alice separate. My personal preference is long hair, hence why I liked this drawing especially, but obviously you do what you want.

If I ever take over the earth, that word in that context will be illegal...

And yeah, so, Alice's hair won't get much longer than this. I need to draw her with her hair down though. Maybe just do a portrait like I did of Mira years ago.Β
