Congratulations on this beautifully modelled and succesfully rendered piece! Could you provide some information about the render and your machine specs? I wonder how long it took Maxwell to give these results...

I keep coming back to look at this image. It's just so interesting! I really like the mixture of technology levels--stucco, clay roof tiles, steel doors, vents, and light fixtures.

I wonder if, in your next one, you might do something similar but add in a bit of Art Deco, maybe some neon? I'm thinking like maybe Bladerunner's Decker goes vacationing in Phoenix...

Great light and textures, Rudolph, but what is really great is the... second look you just *have* to give it because of the strange architectural elements (the doors) mixed to the antique style. Fantastic.

photoshop confuses me, so it's like a bunch of real pictures, but edited into a different one?

The-Vanguard In reply to zodiak12 [2008-08-26 01:48:57 +0000 UTC]

No it's actually more likely a 3D render that is then touched up in Photoshop

zodiak12 In reply to The-Vanguard [2008-08-26 13:11:04 +0000 UTC]

it looks very real from a safe distance, but i can see how the trees might have been edited in there.

RudolfHerczog In reply to The-Vanguard [2008-08-26 07:31:51 +0000 UTC]

Yep, thatΒ΄s right.
As with the previous Village-scene, i only added some dirt, the plant in the foreground and did a little color correction to get a warmer tone.
The original render was more blueish.

Very stunning and very life-like.

Wow man awesome. It has some kind of cosy medieval feeling to it, but it's still kind of futuristic, and the closed gate makes the image really mysterious.
