Description Here is the pencil work for The Quest's Issue #3, which I'm not sure if and when it will hit stands at this point. Technical issues with the Publisher Daystar Studios Ent.

Here it is anyway!

While you're here, check out my local studio, Project 4 Studios and a piece that I did for Hired Gun #2 last year. [link]

Wow...so your actually doing stuff for a publisher? Do you have actual published work somewhere?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RudyVasquez In reply to mxmx [2007-10-18 20:46:24 +0000 UTC]

lol-Man, I feel like I do a lot of work for Publishers but they don't see the light of day. This one was supposed to be released until the Publisher folded. At least for the time being. I've done other indie work, but again, the publishers haven't released the work yet. As soon as I get more on the shelves I'll post a bulletin. Thanks for the interest man, seriously.

Your work is off the hook-dude! You ever thought of just doing your own comic book and just getting one of the big companies to publish it?-that's what I'm trying to do!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RudyVasquez In reply to cuttingedgecomix [2007-09-24 05:28:53 +0000 UTC]

Thanks! I've thought about it, but I want to kinda pay my dues and help other people bring there dreams to fruition. Besides, I hope that when I do, I'll have a bigger audience than I do now. What's your book about?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

cuttingedgecomix In reply to RudyVasquez [2007-09-24 20:04:14 +0000 UTC]

It's an anime based story(demons/samurai/ninja)done in what I consider an Image style(Jim Lee Mike Turner)but to see my true inspiration/direction-watch the manga "Ninja Scroll"-it's feakin awesome and I know you'll like it!!!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RudyVasquez In reply to cuttingedgecomix [2007-09-25 22:48:19 +0000 UTC]

It sounds like I'd love it.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

cuttingedgecomix In reply to RudyVasquez [2007-09-26 01:47:06 +0000 UTC]

For Ninja Scroll try an anime store-or you might be able to find it on line...if I ever finish my book I just might send you a "first copy" because I don't know if I want to post the entire finished work on DA for $$copyright reasons$$!!-I plan on publishing it somehow/way. Inspiration is what I lack right now I just wish I had some help with IDEAS!! It's kind of like swiss cheese in that my Ideas are full of holes!!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RudyVasquez In reply to cuttingedgecomix [2007-09-26 02:23:04 +0000 UTC]

Just keep working it, inspiration will come. Open your mind to it all day and things will seep in at the right times. Yeah, I have a copy of Ninja Scroll, on VHS though. I have to update it.

Thanks for the support. I got an Honorable Mention, which isn't bad considering it was only the second image I'd inked that wasn't my own

F0ldedSteel [2007-09-17 15:10:23 +0000 UTC]

That is really really awesome! You know what? you should make a sketch of the Pyramid head from Silent Hill, You could probably make it look kickass.

RudyVasquez In reply to F0ldedSteel [2007-09-17 19:34:31 +0000 UTC]

lol-Thanks a lot! I might do that at some point. I know a few of my colleagues have already done that. I'll keep it in mind if I ever get some spare time. Thank again!!

Layla-the-Fickle In reply to RudyVasquez [2007-09-18 06:12:05 +0000 UTC]

You're welcome! ^^

And sorry for the absence. I've had quite a few things going on. Some expected, some unexpected. Work, grandparents getting back in town,....and I had to put one of my cats down this last week....just a bunch of randomness that's kept me away.

Sorry again! ^^

RudyVasquez In reply to Layla-the-Fickle [2007-09-18 07:50:59 +0000 UTC]

Put your cat down? Seriously sorry to hear that. I'm a Dog person, but don't mind a polite cat when they come to say hi in someone's house. I hope things are stabilizing.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Layla-the-Fickle In reply to RudyVasquez [2007-09-20 06:30:17 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, this was the first time I had to personally put one of my pets down. Lets just say I wasn't very prepared for it.

Anywho, I'm a big animal lover.Although cats are my main focus, I do love dogs as well. ^^ Do you have any dogs?

And thanks Rudy. ^^

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RudyVasquez In reply to Layla-the-Fickle [2007-09-21 03:23:57 +0000 UTC]

Oh yeah, I've got a Mutt. I'm a dog lover, thought I can appreciate cats. Mostly because like you I love animals. My dog got heart worms like a month ago and we had to give her these injections that feels like Chemo therapy,...it's basically arsenic to kill those bastards slowly. She's doing better. Again, truly sorry bout your Cat.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Layla-the-Fickle In reply to RudyVasquez [2007-10-12 03:39:19 +0000 UTC]

It's always hard when your animals sick or in pain 'cause they don't understand what's going on and you can't explain it to them.

I'm really glad your pup's doing better! It's always good to hear. ^^

I've never had an animal with heart worms....Do you have to give them injections everyday?

Oh and thank you for all your sympathy. ^^

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RudyVasquez In reply to Layla-the-Fickle [2007-10-15 18:45:17 +0000 UTC]

No, thank God. We had to give her some pills but that's not hard. The Vet gave her two injections weeks apart kind of like Chemo therapy. I'm not sure I could have done that. I hope you don't feel as down about your Cat. Animals really represent the purity of what our souls could be without our burden of "human" nature.
