Description As you might have noticed, I got into Slavs recently. I have an idea for a long story, and now I am designing the characters and world (which would be pretty much historical, aside from magical creatures). Now I got stuck on clothing (as this example shows xD), so I made some research and here's compilation of it's first part. Sorry for my scans quality... I'm currently at war with my scanner. Colours are authentical.
References used were found in Google. If the girl from the last example sees it, I just want to say I'm sorry I made her look so old... x]

Thank you I tried to recreate those form the original clothing, as they were made the same methods as ages ago with natural dyes. It amazes me how rich colours could be achieved so long ago!

This is cool. Like the designs you have so far. If you looking for traditional Slavic clothing, you may want to look up "Kroj" (pronounced "Kroy"), for some patterns of the Czechs and Slovaks!

In the case of the Kroj, there were different patterns for the Moravia and the Bohemia regions of the Czech Republic, and in Slovakia there was even more variety, sometimes village specific. Go to [link] for some info, or even [link] or [link] there's lots of variation!

OMG thank you! Those Krojs are kinda simillar to Polish countryside fashion (to the point I wouldn't be abe to tell the difference in fact, but I'm not a specialist xD). Yet I'm concentrated on early medieval and those outfits originate from later periods, as I've read on one of the pages you've send me. Still It's so very kind of you to put so much effort to help me ;3; And it's fascinating to find someone from abroad and not even from a slavic country to know that How came you are in possession of that knowledge?

You can blame it on me having an online friend who's of Slovak origin. And that inspired me to come up with some region on another planet in my works of fiction where a lot of Slovaks ended up, and mingling with the locals, Pavonians (they resemble humans but have the head-feathers and tail-feathers of a peacock). And then I decided to look up "Slovakia" and "Hetalia" on dA, because I was curious what a personification of that country would look like. And one of them was female, and wearing a very fancy Kroj. And then I looked up "Kroj" on Wikipedia because I was curious. I know, "One thing leads to another."

Yeah That's cool. And I love Slovakia xD I was there on holiday when I was a kid and it was an expirience full of extremely good memories. First of all they have wonderfull waterfalls, awesome mountain views and yummy Lentilky - something like m&m but way tastier xD And they have different road signs than are in Poland. I couldn't stop wondering why does those stick-people on them have hats on their heads xD

Nice. I have to go to Slovakia someday. And You can get Lentilky in some other countries, but in Canada, the UK, Ireland, and Germany they're called "Smarties", and in the US, they're...not available. And in Peru they have a name similar to but not identical to Lentilky.

There was a cool website, wish I remembered it, that had roadsigns from around the world, it was interesting, they even did a "rock count"...for that warning sign of the falling rocks, Indonesia went out of the way to have 73 individual rocks on the sign. Also, when I imagine places that have a road network, I try to think what their signs are like.

Oh yes! In Poland I've came across Smarties and Lentilky at the same time xD And LOL for Indonesia. On out art lessons in primary school we had to draw some road signs. I so hope children there doesn't. They'd be doomed x3
