I promised myself I would not try to play and untangle the complicated chronology game, but darn it...I fell into that trap!The only thing we know for sure is Firelord Azulon's age at death: 95, as mentionned in an interview with the creators.
Iroh looks older than his brother Ozai, and it wouldn't be surprising if he was close to twice his age. So Iroh could be anywhere between 25-30 by the time Ozai was born, which could put Azulon in his 60's.
Alright, I'll stop here before I go in too deep and get confusticated with people's ages and chronology.
Still, when Iroh learned the news he would have a younger sibling, it must have come as quite a shock (happened to my cousins actually)!
Rough pencils: two thumbnails done on one 8,5X11 piece of paper. I just put the pages one above the other for easier reading. Just a bunch of talking heads again.
All characters belong to Bryan, Mike, Nickelodeon and Viacom. Trying to make sense of that world can cause headaches.

Having babies in old age must be a family tradition, then, because Sozin was already white-haired and liver-spotted when Azulon was born.

Now that i think about it, Iroh looks like 65-70 and Ozai...well,does evil ages? nah, he looks in his fourties. Great idea xD

Man, this is cute. I got linked here after I posted a long complaint to fanfic rants about relative ages. According to the avatar wiki, Iroh and Ozai are 22 years apart.
Iroh won't be getting his heir on until he's 37, either. Or older. Maybe he's spending too much time with Jeong Jeong...?

Officially, the age difference was never stated, so I'd take the wiki info with a grain of salt. Still, it may be very very close. And Iroh possibly was too busy with the war to start a family early on.

Azulon died at the age of 95 which was when Zuko was about 11 meaning the death took place 5 years before the current show. This puts Iroh around the age of 55 at the time of Azulon's death. So Azulon was around the age of 40 when Iroh was born. Ozai judging from his looks and wiki, he's about in his late 30s to early 40s to I'm guessing 38 making him and Iroh 22 years apart. This means Azulon was 62 at the time of Ozai's birth... Azulon is one lucky man to be active at that age XD

I'm not even trying to untangle the Avatar history timeline, especially that of the fire nation royal line. But your guess sounds about right- which would explain why Iroh may be a bit shocked indeed.

Eww...I did the time line too and I came up that Iroh was 24-32 when Ozai was born....but the Sozin thing is more interesting he made a baby at 82-must of been the comet (just don't imagin that) Well also where is this place Iroh is at it looks like Ba-Sing-Se or is it another EK city?

Sozin may have been rather young when he had Iroh- it would still put Sozin in his 60's, stretching it to 70's when he fathered Ozai.
Iroh is just someplace in the EK- loads of place to try and conquer over there.

You mean Azulon right? well I guess according to the timeline the Sozin we saw in the Ytv trailer wasn't the Sozin who started the war but he named his child Sozin which would mean the child Sozin would be in his twenties when he started the war. Er this timeline is confusing they should really just give the ages of the elderly characters.

Ok, to recap: Sozin started the war. Started it actually pretty late in life, but had been planning for it for a while (all based on the spoiler given by YTV, check out episode 3-06 for more)
Azulon is his kid- fathered Iroh when he was in his early 30's, then Ozai when he was in his 60's. There's a good 25-30 years difference between Iroh and Ozai.
Azulon dies pretty late, at least in his 90's- cause of death still undetermined.
This is all just guesswork, of course.

Quick Batman chronology by age (since the chronology is making me think of it XD):
Bats is about 40 when he first meets Dick Grayson Robin, who is roughly twelve to fourteen. Tim Drake (eventual Robin) sees the Grayson tragedy. He should be about six.
At nine, making Grayson seventeen, let's say, Drake manages to see Grayson do a signature somersault move and realizes Grayson = Robin.
Dick leaves at about twenty-one. As reasoned, Bats is around mid-forties by then. Three or four years pass, Dick is about 25 now. Enter Jason Todd, who is about fourteen. He becomes the new Robin.
Is with Bats for about three years before he's killed. Dick should be about twenty-eight now, but of course, is still around 25. Bats goes into a depression and becomes somewhat reckless.
Seven years pass, and Tim approaches Bats to become the new Robin.
Tim's thirteen.
XD That's the current continuity, from what I've been able to gather. I love comic book timelines sometimes XD
