sweet ship design
I had not heard of the book before, but after reading a few reviews i decided to purchase it and give it a read. I do enjoy scifi and my favourite authors are Alastair Reynolds (have nearly read all his books) and Peter F Hamilton (of which i have only read the void trilogy)Β

HYPERION YAY !!!

I loved so much this serie, the two first books more than the two last.

This is very good! And there are too few artworks of Hyperion around, so double cheers

But if I remember correctly, when you look at a farcaster, you look at the place it leads to, you see the other place. In the house of Martin, for exemple, which consists only of farcaster, he sees the other rooms, the other worlds. Otherwise he couldn't see his house XD

Funny no one made this remark earlier in the comments ^^'

mm, interesting, maybe you are right, but I think I can remember the travellers in Rise of Hyperion not being sure about where the big portals were leading to, only when they cross the surface they know what's on the other side.. too many things to keep record hehehe, I remember Martin's house was a specially designed home, cutting edge, maybe with "open" portals? ( I remember the bathroom ) thank you very much!Β

Indeed, ion the RIse of Endymion, they do not know where the farcasters lead them, but simply because they are inactive when they find them I won't say more in order to avoid further spoiling
Everyone should read Hyperion
Thanks for drawing from this wonderful saga

Just finished the 4-book saga Hyperion Cantos. This wasn't just a reading experience, this was a "life experience." The ending was just amazing and really delivers on the epic concept Simmons started with at the beginning. This art does tremendous credit to the story. Beautiful work.Β

I'm really glad that you liked them, the books and my painting The books are tremendous and I can't stop recommending them to everyone!

This is really amazing! I just finished the Fall of Hyperion and I'm somewhat hesitant to read the Endymion books. I loved the universe and how the stories wrapped up and leaving enough mysteries for the imagination.

However, your work captures the awe and wonder but seems casual and like everyday life in the web at the same time. Had to be faved!

The title made me do a double take. I'm currently reading this book, and loving it.

Awesome work with this!

Every time I finish a story I think, "Okay, now there's no other way these people could be connected to Hyperion..." And it surprises me again with some detail that I hardly noticed, some twist that I hadn't considered, etc. Needless to say, I've stopped trying to predict anything.

I put my reading of the Foundation series by Asimov on hold to start the first Hyperion, now I can't decide whether to go back or continue on my current course. I'm probably leaning more towards continue, but I also don't want to forget any important details in Foundation...

If you continue reading you will get trapped, after the second book thereΒ΄s no way back Honestly I find Foundation saga more boring so far. It is a must on the genre and I love it but that doesnΒ΄t change the fact that is way heavier and slower. I also recommend the Ilion saga from the same author.

Haven't heard of Ilion--or at least it's not in my school's library. I'll have to seek it out, since I can never resist a recommendation from someone with good tastes
