I never wanted anyone to die. Sure, in a shinobi world, everyone is expected either to kill or be killed, I guess that's just the nature of it. Even so, it's unnecessary bloodshed...

I'm the soldier in the war with my sword strapped to my back. I'm not supposed to blow my composure or emotion, and expected to set an example for my team, my village, and my son.

This wasn't like anything I ever imagined back at the Academy, with Minato, Fugaku, Ginoku...

There was blood everywhere. The poor Suna ninja didn't know the line he just crossed. I almost stumbled over his wife when it happened. It's not that I wanted to, but I heard him mention Kakashi and I just lost it. His wife was just another victim of my wrath... These are the things that keep me up at night, the thoughts of what might've been or be.

What if they also had a son, back in that Sand Village? A little boy with red hair and no parents, who cries while Kashi gets tucked in every night by his mommy and daddy. An act of momentary hatred can completely alter a child's future, even if indirectly affected.

Just like toy soldiers in a toy store, they can lead very different lives, and one day on a play date, they'll be reunited in a little toy battle. But in every toy battle that is fought, the result is always the same; They all fall down.

"Never fight battles you can't handle"

"Don't get involved, it's not your problem"

It was never my object for someone to get killed. Why would I try to destroy something I helped build? I was told not to get involved, it wasn't my fight, so I sat back and watched and gritted my teeth.

But what happened wasn't my intentions, my intentions were good, but there are reasons people are misunderstood. In a ninja world the nicest guys are sometimes the villains, even if it was just one victim.

Everyone gets killed sooner or later, no one ever goes undefeated no matter their mission record. Either they are destroyed by the enemy or themselves, but who will cry for them when shinobi must never show emotion, let alone tears for their comrades?

They cannot cry for themselves. Red clouds hung above in the sky that day Konoha was split. The fox was sealed, but nothing remained. A new dawn had come, but night still lingered.

Just like toy soldiers, our wars are simply toy battles, not significant to even ourselves. And in the end, the hatred will consume us all, and the toy soldiers will all fall down.
