Description
Part of my promise to include more furry characters in the Gut Buster Universe, Captain Wombat is set to appear in an upcoming mini-comic and to make sporadic appearances thereafter. A Wombatron from the planet Womba III, Captain Wombat desperately wants to be the national superhero of Australia, a position already filled by Bonkeroo. Viewed by the general public as Bonkeroo’s sidekick, Captain Wombat spends most of his time cleaning up after and serving Bonkeroo’s every need. Captain Wombat just can’t seem to say no to the Roo. Unknown to Captain Wombat, there is a sinister reason for his acquiescence. During the Roo Golden Age, the Roo routinely hired Wombatrons as menial laborers and servants. The often impoverished and technologically backward planet of Womba III acted as a near endless source of cheap labor for the Roo. Once the deranged Emperor Waroo took the throne, the planet was outright conquered by the Roo and the Wombatrons enslaved. Waroo’s scientist made genetic modifications to the Wombatrons rendering them incapable of disobeying a Roo. After the Roo Wars, the Roo became an isolationist species, severed all ties to Womba III, and returned the Wombatron slaves to their home world. The lone Wombatron on earth has found himself the unintentional doting lackey of a Roo and can’t figure out why he’s in such a position. Bonkeroo has no idea that Captain Wombat is genetically programmed to serve him, and merely assumes that the wombat-like alien is simply very helpful. Captain Wombat has the proportionate strength of a wombat and his tough rear hide is impervious to most injuries.
