Near the end of my Sophomore year of highschool, my art teacher gave me a fair sized canvas, not huge, but definitely larger than anything I had ever painted on before. She said that I was the only one of her students who was enthusiastic about painting outside of class and said she truly felt like God was telling her to give it to me. "Paint something beautiful," she said. The idea for this came to mind only shortly after, inspired by a dream, or more so coming out of a nightmare and seeking refuge in God through prayer and Scripture. It took nearly the entire summer as I worked off and on. On the first day of school I brought it into class to show my teacher and she was overjoyed, almost started crying, and wanted to put it up to show all her classes. This piece of art is very special to me and holds a great deal of meaning. I hope that it can bring you at least a bit of the assurance, comfort, and joy it has brought me.
