Description

The hamster model finally arrived a few days later.  It looked better on Amazon, but at least it was life-sized and hopefully accurate enough. Telling a security guard it was a hamster that was easily spooked and keeping it mostly wrapped when carrying it should be enough.  Sigrún fooled around with a pose to show Adam.  It would need to be hollowed out and the posing wires removed, but she thought he’d fit pretty well.  Without him about items on his scale seemed so tiny.

She didn’t know how she’s be able to take it if he shrank further. She wanted a relationship that wasn’t pet and owner.  It had taken them a long time to find something good after the last shrink and she is still too aware of her size and actions.  She was already larger than most whales to him.  A normal human relationship may not be possible if he shrank any more.

She mentally slapped herself.  This was not a productive way to think.  Focusing on the present and celebrating life was the way to go.  Having a romantic delayed Valentine’s Day was worth the effort and even a bit of risk.

_______

They went into the exercise room and she put the hamster model next to Adam.  There should be room to spare.  The kitten would have been overwhelmingly huge for him to animate.  While he was checking it out she brought out some undies that she could line the travel case with.  They should be incredibly soft for travel and even a bit suggestive. At least she thought fine silk should still be smooth.  Without telling him why she asked that he take off his shirt before coming along to the room.

She dressed for the occasion. Makeup, a sexy dress and  even the tall heels. The heels were a guaranteed laugh and ice breaker.  The joke they shared was heels only made her seem like she was tall.  in reality adding another five feet didn’t make much of a difference.  She did have to be much more careful when he was on the floor so she got down as close to his level as she could and, while he was checking out the hamster, tossed the undies next to him.  At least that’s what she tried.  They overshot and she found herself awkwardly reaching around him.  So much for the sensual surprise.  At least it was funny.

nice posing and story. Colorfull scene. Is you made it with only one HDRI?

thanks

the background is not an HDRI image ... several pieces with a lot of shaders applied.  I've used this room quite a bit.

but what lighting?

just the sun and a few extra lights to deal with shadows...

As for sun you meant sun sky only in enviornment or other? What lights spot or liminance from emmision channel? How much luminance?

sun sky, roof off and several emission planes to balance things out.  I can't remember the settings offhand, but there is a good deal of tuning to get things looking ok

how much luminance you usually set? What panels you set for emmision channels? Lamps, lights or else?

It varies so much from set to set that I don't pay much attention.  Usually for speed I use spots, often set very large, as emissive plates tend to be much slower.  I do use emissive planes to patch shadows, deal with faces, portraits, etc...  My numbers won't make much sense for something else as my camera settings are probably very different.

I usually do test renders on interiors with very simple surfaces and a few simple geometries to start to make light adjustments ...  that's how I figure out how to adjust lights.  Then I add what I want rendered and see what it looks like after a few iterations.  then I change lighting and try again..  It is a very iterative process.

What geometry you use for spots (point, disc, sphere, rectangle?) I am still not get how much luminance usually needs for emission channel to bright scene in proper that light will be all around and wasn't too much of dark places. On what surfaces betteruse emmision channels (lamps, roof, walls or else?) How much luminance and temperature to set? Will it owrks properly and noticeable if I iwll add sundial, put sun-sky in environment and than add some luminance  to emmission channels?
As for simple  surfaces you meant that you render empty room with props and than add characters after setup of lighting?

For emission in enclosed spaces I generally use large flat surfaces.  The warning is it slows rendering down a lot - at least for me.  Mostly I set up smaller planes near the area I want to render and I usually don't use it as the brightest lighting.  I do a lot of testing. I recommend looking into some of the discussions on some of the Daz3d boards and I've come across some good youtube videos (although I can't remember which ones are best now).

You can do some color correction with temperature of course...  higher values will push the scene towards the blue, lower to the red.   When you're dealing with sun-sky and you're not using a roof, it takes some very bright settings on other lights to make much of a difference
