It's been a long nightOf construction under the bridge
Where the workers tell me
They're sorry they have to work where I live
But I don't mind the noise
Or the falling concrete
I just mind
That anyone feels the need to apologize
When we're both just trying to survive
I just woke up
To find my skull has some new lumps
For a second I wonder why
Then I realize
That half my bottle's gone
But I don't think I did anything wrong
So I pour a shot
Because I'm where I belong
This is how I start the day
With a headache, and covered in pain
But I'm glad I'm here
For the third year
Doing what I love for so long
It brings me to tears
Don't tell me I can't live with nothing
Because right now I have more than everything
That I could ever need
And I'll be pleased
On the day it goes away
Because happiness just leads to pain
And pain's the best way
That I know how to handle every day
So I'll hop this train of thought
Until it derails
Being so goddamn happy
It starts to disgust me
But I can't help but love the feeling
I'm so goddamn happy
It's disgusting
Being okay with being
The only person that loves me
