Description
An experimental Space-Plane (a vehicle that takes off like a conventional aircraft using jet engines, then uses conventional chemical rocket engines to achieve orbit) takes off from it's birthplace in Southern California to undergo flight-tests at Edwards Air Force Base, 60 miles North East.This small base was the birthplace of Space Shuttles. So it only seemed fitting to use it in this picture.
Far left building is the hangar where the Space shuttle were built and the structure to the right is the crane used to mount the shuttles onto the NASA B-747.
