Both are the central female video game protagonists of post-apocalyptic settings who are artificial clones of young innocent girls (the real Kiana and Saya, respectively) and have been adopted by surrogate parental figures (Siegfried Kaslana and the Vermillions, respectively). Both are trained in the gun-kata fighting style, utilizing a special pair of pistols that can pierce the fabric of space (ARC Serratus and Arcus Diabolus: Bolverk, respectively) and have enrolled in a military academy (St. Freya High School and Novus Orbis Librarium, respectively), where they were trained to fight against the god-like forces of their worlds (the Will of Honkai and Original Units, respectively) and formed a relationship with a female individual they would develop a strong bond with (Raiden Mei and Tsubaki Yayoi, respectively). Both are also the host to an alternate personality with a dark history (Sirin and Mu-12, respectively), who wields powers that gives them a ludicrously powerful ability which bends and controls a form of reality to their whims (Imaginary Renormalization and Phenomena Intervention, respectively) and originates from a radioactive energy that corrupted their worlds (Honkai energy and Seithr, respectively). Both were manipulated by mainline villains to the point of awakening said suppressed alternate persona (Herrscher of the Void and Hazama/Yuuki Terumi, respectively), which took control of their bodies and attempted to destroy the world, only to later regain control of themselves thanks to a sacrifice made by an ally in red (Murata Himeko and Ragna the Bloodedge, respectively). After confronting and defeating their other half, they would gain full control of their powers and would go on to fight apocalyptic beings that exist on and have powers from a higher plane of existence. Both have also fought against the individuals who have been responsible for their creations, acted as the CEOs of companies they were previously a part of, and lived for hundreds of years, all to seek an inconceivable power of their worlds to fulfill their greatest desires, though for opposite reasons (Kiana was a Valkyrie of the Schicksal company owned by Otto Apocalypse, who had wanted to gain the powers of a god to revive his lover Kallen Kaslana, while Noel was part of the Novus Orbis Librarium created by Yuuki Terumi, a stepping stone for him to obtain the Azure in order to enslave the world and cause worldwide suffering and destruction). Both also have a connection to a complex, cosmological space that connects every known world and timeline in their respective multiverses together (the Imaginary Tree and the Boundary, respectively), in which they have been parts of previous eras that have met abrupt ends (Kiana unwillingly fused with Sirin to become the Herrscher of the End in Houkai Gakuen 2 before destroying the world herself and causing it to eventually be reborn, while Noel was part of a phase called the Looping World and relived her whole life endlessly until she put an end to it by stopping Ragna from falling into the Cauldron with Nu-13). Both also bear epithets that identify them as a form of successor (Kiana is the Herrscher of Flamescion, "scion" of which stands for successor and is a nod to how she took up Himeko's flames as her own, while Noel has the title of Successor of the Azure). Furthermore, both have heavily contrasting personalities with each other (Kiana is assertive, affable, and lively, while Noel is self-conscious, shy, and awkward) and are also funnily known for being terrible chefs (members of the Kaslana family like Kiana have always been known to be bad chefs, while Noel is notoriously known for cooking Death Dinners).
