Since it's been so long since I drew the pic of Jenna expecting her litter, (with Balto at her side) here's one that has the new arrivals and their proud parents!(and yes, I know that not all of the pups are there, but it's a bit difficult finding space for either six or eight pups on a normal sheet of card-stock! )
(and yes, before somebody points it out, yet again, I KNOW Balto was neutered and full-dog! )

BTW, can I tell you my thoughts on the sequels?

Sure! (Since my thoughts were that they were a little poorly written, and the art sometimes didn't 'stand up' to the standards that the very first one had had...)

Firstly, I love both Maurice LaMarche and Jodi Benson and their work in other things, but they just did not cut it. Same for Charles Fleischer as Boris, as much as I like him I just think he could not pull off that edge that the late Bob Hoskins put into the character from the first movie. Kevin Schon also did not sound as comedic as Phil Collins. Did you know Balto's design changed throughout the sequels? Also, the first was just made to cash in on Lion King 2 with the whole main character's daughter going on a adventure to discover who they are to the world around them and where they fit into it. The second one was like Lady and the Tramp 2 with the son doing the same thing. Another thing, both were musicals! Because that's what we needed in the original! F***ing music numbers! I hate when they make musical sequels to things that weren't musicals to begin with (like Balto, The Secret of NIMH, and the Land Before Time), do you?
The only thing the sequels did right was providing the names and ideas for Balto and Jenna's children (especially Aleu and Kodi, voiced by Lacey Chabert and Sean Astin who admittedly did good performances, despite how lame the movies were). There is also how they gave Balto's mother a name, Aniu (which means 'snow' in Inuit, a fitting name since Balto said she "was white as snow" and had a warm voice that always made him feel safe, and her voice from Monnae Michaell was well casted and matching said description). I also admit the characters of Nava and Duke were interesting too (voiced respectively by the late David Carradine and his still active younger brother Keith Carradine) who people have made better use of in fan works with Nava being Aniu's twin brother (making him Balto's uncle) and Duke being a mail runner for the town. I also admit to liking Kodi's friends (Kirby, voiced by Carl Weathers; Ralph, voiced by Bill Fagerbakke; Dusty, voiced by Charity James), especially Dusty who serves as his love interest while Kirby and Ralph can serve as love interests for Aleu.
I also did not get why no one would want to adopt Aleu when the people had already accepted Balto for who and what he was (he even says he is still made fun of for being part wolf despite being a hero now! WTF!? I know both were on lower budgets than the first, but they cannot keep up with basic continuity?!). Second, Luk and Muk can't swim even though they found they could in the first!? CONTINUITY ALARM RINGING!!! Thirdly, since when has Balto yearned for flying? NEVER!!! Fourthly, I would have preferred Balto's children staying with Balto and forming a family sled team, doesn't that sound cooler and more appropriate?
Sorry, I went on kind of a rant there. I just cannot stand what the sequels did, and prefer what others have done with the fan-material they provided.

Though with many of the voices, at least the people who had made the sequels had made an effort to try and match the voices of Balto, Boris, and a few of the others as well as they could! (I've always hated Aleu's voice; it had always sounded like she had been voiced to be a spoiled brat...and Kodi was meant to sound like an underachiever from the start)
Yet one thing that has bothered me from the time the first film came out in '95, is the unexplained complete disappearance of Steele; what became of him, after that room's door closed and left him alone in there?
And why did the sequel-makers have to make the white wolf female? (as well as Balto's mother?? ) True, it could have been that she had been a white wolf, but I had always imagined that the original white wolf from the first movie had been either a wandering spirit or just a wanderer out in the midst of that snowstorm looking for some shelter, and had just come across Balto and had given some encouragement in his own way!
And another note that still bothers me, is also the disappearance of ALL of the background characters from the first movie (meaning the dogsled team that runs behind Steele, as well as those silly dogs who had been Jenna's friends) , as well as the fact that Jenna had had some incredible courage of her own that had been forgotten about!
I have to say that I like the idea of Balto's children sticking around and forming a 'family team' (Though I would have also liked also if Aleu could have not been the spoiled brat she'd been written to be, and if she could have been less hateful about her dog heritage too)

Oh yeah. And sometimes those shifts weren't good at all! (My guess is that since most of the animation is done by computer and not by hand now, the animators got lazy...)

Oh the LBT sequels and NIMH 2 had been even worse! (it had been almost as though the people writing the 'songs' were hoping that kids got more stupid as time went on! )
In fact, the sequels for these had almost made me cry because they had been so badly written! > _ <
(in other words, I REALLY had to be talked out of throwing the movies in the garbage, and to sell them in a yard sale! )
