Wonderful dark style, once again the cross-hatching looks great. The thickness of the lines actually enhances the style for me, it creates miniature deep shadows.
The eyes and surrounding black areas look most effective indeed, I also like how there are only small pinpoints of bright colour in the piece. The yellow straw, blue eyes and red rust form a nice basic colours theme, while keeping to a sepia tone of the rest of the piece.

thanks. A few people complained about the similar line shape in the hatching, but I did it purposefully. It makes it seem grungier.

Ha, I think it depends on the style you're going for. Grungy, dark work needs a bit of chaotic, 'looser' elements to the line art, so this was perfect to me.

I'm just wondering though, with the program you use, are you able to change the pressure of lines? (I know I can in Paint Tool SAI, but I've never used Photoshop...which I'm guessing you do? Everyone uses it nowadays lol)
Anyways, when it comes to hatching and cross hatching, it's important to make those lines smaller than the outlines. In regards to the pressure tool (if you're able to use one) then making it thinner the closer inside it gets (farther than the base lines)....at least that's what I do.
I love your style, but in honesty when I see you hatch, it seems a bit...crowded. Maybe it's just a change in direction the lines could go---I don't know.

Ah--see with SAI you can go back and change the pressure. (It's a pretty neat tool.)
