"I do feel awfully bad that you got shot on account of me," Harley is saying to Joker, trying to motherly fluff his pillow. He'd probably uppercut her for her tender care, but he is, now that he has company, strapped down again.

"I got shot because I had a nurse's eyeball-eyewalls (babyvoice here) impaled on my thumbs, but go on thinking the world revolves around you." And he puntuates his smarm with a tich noise that Harley would smile over if she wasn't forcing a straight face for the unfortunate victim (she doesn't revel in murder but she is, increasingly, less concerned when it happens).

She holds up an orange juice box and Joker sips at it's green and white striped straw casually, making a tart face at the end.

"I really prefer, ah, fresh-sqeezed."

"So do I," She agrees brightly, removing the straw and discarding the empty box to it's tray.

This fanfic really awakened my inner Joker/Harley. I suggest that any serious fans read it. As I've said before, I find it rather disturbing that Joker and Harley won't be able to meet as long as Nolan's in charge of the Batman films :C Ah well ... hopefully Robin'll be in the next one. Oh, or maybe Mad Hatter X3 One can only hope.
