Description I'm working in a short animated film at the moment. Its about Hawks. The animation is done completely in 3D, but is rendered  with a 2D look and is rotoscoped over in Photoshop.

This is my first style test. I need to tweek a few things, like adding  some more interesting textures in the dark area's. The animation is also very rough, because my main goal was figuring out the right look.

This is really neat Ruth.  You asked me for some brush recommendations, do you have this guy's?   Also it might be really neat if you try the inky effect similar to the street fighter 4 character art www.candb.com/site/candb/cache… It can stress the motion a lot, but it might be much harder to do.  I do think you could stand to get a bit looser with it, maybe push the brush strokes more.

Drawing rougher  and with looser strokes is actually easier, but it can also cause the animation to looks scrambled and it might loose the flow.  I can only figure that out by making another test though. I do like the idea of handdrawing the motionblur as you see in the streetfighter art.

Thanks for the bruh pack, I'll use it by my next test.

Wow, this looks pretty cool! Nice angle. I'm curious to see the end result. When is it expected to be finished?
