Wow - very beautiful composition & idea behind the picture!
I'm not an advanced photographer, but I have been hanging out at a very cool forum lately. So... here's a little something i picked up over there.
On the over-exposure of the sun:
(Not sure if you have a manual-control camera or not... but here goes.)
I visit a place called DPreview.com and in their forums they talk about how to shoot shots like this (very different contrast from sun to dark landscape) so that they can be 'fixed' in a photo-manip program, such as PS. In this case, you would shoot to under-expose the sun, then blend it with the rest of the shot using layers & masks, which would make it even better than it is. Actually, they say to shoot 3 shots, one for under-exposing (for bright areas), one for over-exposing (for the dark areas, and one for mid-exposure - i think the word for this is "exposure bracketing") I don't have a link to the tutorial for you - but if you're interested, i'll post it if i find it. Oh, and if this info is totally irrelevant to you - then forget I said anything!
thanks again for your comments on my 'stuff'
