oh. my. *flaps* back in 2002 when I was twelve and stupid and there weren't all that many fansites for Dir en grey, this was what I used to use for reference as for who was who x_x
so.. this is a seven year late thank you for helping me fall in love these boys ♥

Wow. I have a story for you about this pic.
My friend was looking up fanart for an anime on an image search a few years ago. But got sidetracked (very sidetracked) by a picture that she opened a link to. That picture was this picture. She began looking up pictures of the DeG because of it. Then she read a bunch of interviews with and about them. And then, about four or five months after she first saw this (and became instantly obsessed), she heard them for the first time; and thus, fell even more in love with the group. You created a j-rocker! XD Congrats!
I'm not sure how much you care about this, or the following, and I know, it's a long comment, but bare with me a little longer, please.
She introduced her friend to it, also, and now they're both hardcore fans. Not much later, I met her for the first time in art club at my school (and her friend, as well), and we became friends. She introduced me to DeG, so now I like them as well. The other night, while her and another friend were checking out some HP fanart, they came across your piece "Draco's Lesson", and my friend (the one I started the story about) sent me a link to it, tonight. I loved the comic and faved it and went to your gallery to see your other stuff, and stumbled across this. I recognized it from the printout taped to her bedroom door.
Me: "O_O No way."
Mind you, this coincidence is even stranger because neither her or my other friend have devART accounts. I sent her the link to this. She has some words for you:
Me: I like that style, actually..
Me: hey, she's the girl who did that Dir en Grey pic?
Friend: huh?
Me: look!
Me: *link I sent her to this piece*

Oh... my god XD;;; Just knowing that someone out there has printed something I drew and hung it to his/her wall... This makes me feel so weird!! lol Well I'm glad j-rock got more fans becasue of this, although I'm kind of ashamed of this picture nowadays, it's AT LEAST 4 years old, so...

Unfortuneately, I have non of their CDs. X.x I'm really interested in them, but haven't heard their stuff that much; just from some downloads (very few) I have and my friend plays them for me soemtimes. I really would like some of their CDs, though.
Ok, I'll fill you in on how they are from according to my friend: she tells me Kyo got the no-pierced-eyebrows look cuz they kept getting infected, so he gave up. Their newest CD is Withering to Death and was released a few months ago, and they released Vulgar in 2003. Their next CD will probably be out in 2 or 3 years, she says. And OOH, they're possibly coming to tour in the U.S.! No tour dates have been released yet, so we don't know when or where...but they've been touring Europe. She also tells me their new song on the Withering to Death album, "KODOU" is absolutely AMAZING, and their music is a little heavier now, music-wise. And Kaoru cut his hair, and it looked awful, but it is growing back. lol "They are still sexy."
She keeps close watch on them.

I wish I could draw chibified Dir en grey as good as you ;__; Aww, they're all so cute. My personal favorite is Shinya.. uu, but I like Kyo too ^^;; Well they are all cool in their own!! I love the Kyo in your drawing though, his expression is so adorable! This is go in my faves for sure!
