Hey, what did you do with the color version this series? I think it would be really cool if you could make the soldiers in a bright neon green and leave the rest of the photo in black and white.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

rwwingsfan19 In reply to kusanagi09 [2006-06-03 21:32:08 +0000 UTC]

neon? mightnt that be bit too bright?
i deleted the color versions a long while ago… i need to fix the description.

thanks alot for looking

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

kusanagi09 In reply to rwwingsfan19 [2006-06-03 22:56:19 +0000 UTC]

Well, maybe a muted neon if that makes any sense.

if you use a color picker like in PS itll give you 3 numbers that identify the colors a Red number a Green number and Blue number!

Wow! I really like this concept. It's cute and serious at the same time.
The black and white adds to the graphic and less whimsical feel. Also, great use of depth of field! I like that the rest of the guys in line are blurred and dark! This is very personal! Fav!

Very nice picture, the only thing I would say is maybe tweak the levels a bit to get more white in there, or make it a bit brighter. With all the dark graytones, it's kind of hard to seperate objects in the background. Nice picture, though.

rwwingsfan19 In reply to futzy99 [2006-06-03 21:58:58 +0000 UTC]

thanks alot!
but…
its supposed to be dark to convey the darkness of war and its high contrast for the same type of thing
aslo the background is supposed to be blurry… again ambiguity and confusion of war and such

but thanks alot anyways! i appreciate the time you took to comment!

Hi Marc. I really like this image, I particulary like the feel and mood the the image portrays. Your technique of harsh lighting, choice of depth of field and isolation by depth of field is spot on for this image and creates this image's mood and feel.
I understand where some of your other comments on this image are comming from, but I think that it's right the way it is. If you had more depth of field then the image would weaken significantly and if you used less harsh lighting, resulting in a brighter image, then the drama would fade away. This image reminds me of the opening sequences of X-Men I, it has the same muddy, german war flick sort of presence.
