There's a type of quartz from Spain, and it receives its name because the pilgrims used it while they did Santiago's Road (Camino de Santiago). In the 2nd season of Steven Universe, we can see a map where it is (or would be) a gem structure, and one day I thought "maybe it's a kindergarten with more quartz soldiers for Pink Diamond's army". And then, a spanish gemsona called Jacinto de Compostela was born. Here, she goes to english classes to be able to communicate with the gems of Little Homeworld, and Blue Pearl offers to teach her; and, at the same time, she goes to spanish classes because she likes how that language sounds (she kinda heard it during the Organization time, thanks to Xigbar). And this apprenticeship helps both of them to create connections :3
