Amidst the warm and inviting sun Cosmo stood at the front door of Tail's house, letting the sun reflect off of her hair. The rosebuds within her hair rustled from the strength of the sun and began to shoot the pollen contained inside, trailing back into the house.

Tails had been sitting on the couch watching the news, when all of a sudden his vision was yellowed and his eyes burned. Tails cried out in pain loud enough for Cosmo to hear and run back inside.

Cosmo: Oh Dear Tails…TAILS!

Cosmo found Tails groping around in the living room, trying to visualize where he was in the living room. Tails couldn't see, his eyes burned so much he couldn't open them.

Cosmo: Tails, please stand still so I can guide you to a place to wash.

Tails: Alright, just WHAAA!

Tails tripped on the television remote sitting on the floor and hit a potted plant, the plant rotated back and forth until it gave and dumped its contents…

Tails: AHHHHH!

…on Tails.

Cosmo who witnessed it was horrified, but slowly began to smile. Cosmo covered her mouth and held in a giggle as she walked over to Tails struggling to get up.

Tails struggled to wipe off his chest. "What am I covered in?"

Cosmo grasped Tail's hand, "Topsoil Tails, and you're filthy. You really need to wash out your eyes, I'm so sorry"

Tails: Aw don't worry about it Cosmo, you didn't mean to hurt me.

She guided him to the bathroom and took off his gloves, putting them in the washer while he flushed out his eyes. When she returned, she saw him flinch as soon as he tried to open his eyes.

Cosmo: Tails, is everything okay?

Tails, who started to tear at the eyes lowered his head. "I'm sorry Cosmo, I just can't open my eyes".

Cosmo grew sad. "Then you'll be stuck in this filthy state until you can open you're eyes?"

Tails: I guess so.

Cosmo put her hand on his shoulder. "I won't let you wallow in filth Tails dear, I'll help you."

Tails blushed. "You're going to help me get clean?"

Cosmo giggled. "Why of course silly, it's the least I can do."

Cosmo led Tails to the bathroom, who swatted the air in front of him with his bare hands. Cosmo had her hand on his shoulder and guided him to a chair. Cosmo then started the water for him and got him a towel.

Cosmo: Now Tails, I'll be right by the door listening for you. Call me when you are out, because you obviously can't clean yourself thoroughly. First rinse off all the top soil, then I'll help you soap and lather so you can rinse once more.

Tails tried to open his eyes but flinched again, he still cracked a smile.

Tails: Thanks Cosmo.

Cosmo left the room and went to get a drink of water, while Tails combed his hands through his fur. Dirt dropped to the floor of the tub and disappeared down the drain as it broke down, however when turning slightly Tails nudged the single knob for the shower and turned the water hotter.

Tails screamed as he scalded himself, and dived out of the shower. Cosmo ran into the room and put her drink on the sink, she then sat on the ground and brought Tails closer to her. He was wincing and tearing at the eyes, which were now open and bloodshot.

Cosmo cried as she held him. "Tails, please be alright."

Tails breathed heavily, but put his hand on hers. "I'm...Okay Cosmo. Just got a little burned."

The understatement of the day as she eyed the redness of his skin below his fur, Cosmo hugged him tightly.

Tails: "I'm just so glad to see you now that I can open my eyes…All I need is you.

Cosmo laughed uncomfortably. "That's very flattering Tails, but I would like to rub some aloe on your skin at the very least".

Tails: Alright.

Cosmo led him back to the chair, and proceeded to get a bottle of Aloe. She initially wrapped her arms around his neck and gave him a light kiss on his burnt neck.
Cosmo saw him clench his teeth slightly, a sunburn-like sensation burst on the spot.

Cosmo squeezed aloe into her hand, and began to rub it onto his neck with both hands. Tails made a hissing sound as hot skin met cold aloe, and he gripped his chair tighter. He focused only on the smoothness, the gentleness of her hands caressing the sides of his neck.

After a while, Cosmo rubbed the aloe onto his back. When she was done there, she rested her head on his shoulder and wiped the remaining aloe onto his chest. The fur felt soft in her hands, and she absentmindedly started to tickle him with the movements her fingers were making.

Tails: C-C-Cosmo are you done. HAHAHAHAAAA!

Cosmo gasped and backed away. "I'm sorry Tails, I didn't mean to."

Tails smiled and laughed; "It's alright, thanks for everything Cosmo. Hey it's the first day of spring isn't it?"

Cosmo: Well, yes.

Tails: Well then let's go to the park, maybe get ice cream.

Cosmo smiled and kissed him on the cheek.

Cosmo: I would be delighted Miles.
