Well...I just about ran out of time with this contest.My goal for this was to capture a folklore illustrative style.

Yeah, my method requires some wonky omissions. It would have been neat to include the number symbolism though. It would fit the subject well.

Sort of. My intention was to show a group of witches who use blood magic to grow a nest-like tree. Instead of the standard approach of a illustrating witches emanating with power, I wanted to illustrate a type of sensual connection with the use of their magic. This idea is inspired from the old idea that witches had sexual encounters with Satan, who is supposed to be the origin of their dark power.

Somehow it reminds me of Dante's Inferno from the Divine Comedy series. The only difference is the atmosphere of pleasure than terror. Great job!

The picture started out out as a sketch on a large sheet of paper and drawn with a #2 pencil and .05 mechanical pencil.
After that I transferred it to my computer and colored it digitally.
