It's based on a snake skin (king snake ..somewhat similar to the coral)pattern i saw another 2d artist i respect (Michael Skrepnick [link] [link] ) using and thought i would love to play with his version in 3D.

Thanks but it comes from another animal ..i think a coral snake and another artist has used a similar color setup in a painting i think. I was inspired by it and wanted to play with it like a digi-toy.

I still think it's a very good idea - a rare piece of fossil evidence shows that dinosaurs were more brightly coloured than we thought.

I'm glad you like.

I've created an updated more anatomicaly correct Rex and will be loading pics soon. I hope to get some time to really digg in and create something new and interesting.
