It's always harder to take pictures with living things, you know the ones that move when you don't want them to! However you did that job very nicely getting a close up, smooth and amazing quality picture. I always like to stress how important it can be to make a photo yours, anyone can take a photo of a butterfly, but finding new and interesting ways to take a picture adds to people finding interest in it. This would include different angles, times of day, focus points and such. You did add some of this which makes it stand out, that being you didn't take as much of a straight on photo and took one kind of looking down on the subject. The bright colours vs the dark butterfly really help it to pop out as well, which was nicely placed on these bright purple and then green flowers giving you a perfect opportunity for a great capture.
All in all well done, to add a minor thing, when taking pictures of plants, unless intended I would always aim for the nicer looking ones instead of ones with wilt, brown and dying colours and such. Which you did well with avoiding <3 In some cases a still budding flower is not always right either but I believe it works well with this specific photo. Well Done! Hope this is of some perspective to you.

Thank you very much for the critique! I'm glad you enjoyed how I set up the angle of the photo. I wanted to make sure it included both the Skipper and the flowers without overexposure due to the bright sunlight.

I agree that whole/intact flowers are more pleasing to the eye, but I didn't think there would be another chance for this shot (I was pretty close and they were flying everywhere) so I took it. All in all, I'm pleased with the shot.

Thanks again
