anguish, but i also sense a burst of freedom, like screaming out all the pain, leaving the person exhausted but relieved.

Thanks! While I don't think texture is a strong enough element to be its own thing (in abstract expressionism, etc.) I do hold it as the 'skin' of a surface to intensify the image.
