Description Name: Jacqueline Allard / Cho Rin
Nicknames: Rin, Chorin, Lin
Gender: Female
Year: First
Age: 16

Voice + talking habits + languages they know:

Lin has a mezzo voice pitch. She is soft spoken and polite with her words. She was raised not to use crude words but that doesn’t stop her from using them when someone pushes her limits.

She knows how to speak the languages English, French and Japanese. She is fluent in speaking in French and English since she was born and raised in France. She learned Japanese after her sudden move to Japan when she was about fourteen years old.

As much as possible, Lin tries to talk in Japanese as a desperate way of blending herself with the locals, but she often slips in speaking in French when she is feeling extreme emotions.

Voice Claim: Olivia Olson (Marceline from Adventure Time)

Nationality: Lin is half French, half Japanese. Her mother is from France while her dad is a Japanese man.

Height and weight: 170 cm / 55 kg

Personality:

Positive:
  • Loyal, Open-minded, Smart
Lin is the kind of person who chooses trustworthy people to be close to her and stay with them through thick and thin. She would accept the person she befriended for whoever they choses to be as. She is also the kind of person who doesn’t have any problem academically. She loves studying new things.

Neutral:
  • Assertive, Independent
Lin is the kind of person who knows what she wants, how she wants it, where to get it, and when she wants it. She doesn’t like to feel indebted to people most of the time so she makes it a habit to repay them as much as possible.

Negative:
  • Aloof, Low Self Esteem, Blunt
Often coming off as rude and conceited at first, Lin is actually very shy especially when it comes to how she looks. She often compares herself to others and that usually leads to an argument.

Biography:

It all started when Lin's mother saw her trying to kiss a girl for the first time and as a result, got disowned by it. Lin came from a divorced couple who got married young and thought they were in love but eventually both parties realized they were just forcing themselves and made a mutual agreement on the separation and child care. Lin's mother agreed she would take care of her in France and Lin's father regrettably goes back to Japan while sending money for childcare every now and then.

Under her traditionalistic mother's care and tutelage, Lin learned how to become a proper lady in hopes of landing herself a good husband candidate in the future. However, a part of Lin didn't quite understand her mother's reasons for teaching her those lessons. A part of her was asking why should her future be dependent on a man's value? Why is it that men are the only option? Lin was so confused and misguided then so when given the opportunity to try and experiment all those feelings with another girl, she couldn't help but try it but got caught by her mother immediately. What's worse is, she got disowned by her own mother and outcasted by her peers.

Lin was forced to move to Japan and live with her father at the age of fourteen. It was an awkward start but both father and daughter learned how to cope with the new living arrangements. Lin applied for Japanese citizenship and changed her name to Cho Lin, adapting her father's surname and her French nickname. She learned how to speak Japanese in two years while taking middle school subjects at home. Her relationship with her father is closer than with her mother's. They had found a common interest in watching movies and movie effects since her father's job is in line with that. However bonding with her father is difficult since most of the time he is busy at work.

After graduating middle school, her father recommended her to attend SRA in hopes of broadening her horizon and letting her experience herself what normal teenagers do. He also wanted her to think of her future and if being a producer is what she really wanted to do so enrolling in SRA is the perfect school in helping her figure that out.

Likes:
  • Japanese Rice Crackers 🍘 - Lin just can't get enough eating these
  • Old movies
  • Harry Potter books - she's a hardcore HP fan who even writes fanfiction of her favorite tropes.
  • her dad
  • podcasts

Dislikes:
  • Her mom
  • Shrimp - they are the roaches of the sea
  • Insects, especially cockroaches - it's something hairy, filthy, crawly. Disgusting.
  • Escargot - it's not a delicacy for her. it's just torture on a plate
  • Judgmental people

Additional Information:
  • After Lin experienced being rejected by her own mother, she thought that she was unwanted for being herself and had to hide most of her feelings again.
  • She has a complex with how her looks reminds her that she doesn't belong in France. It also led her to thinking that her stay with her father is only temporary.
  • She prefers to be called by either of the names Lin, Rin or Chorin because using her French name reminds her too much of her mother. Calling her Jacky is a big no no too.
  • She writes Harry Potter fanfiction under the handle name 'Ch0rinZ0u'. Her favorite character is Hermione Granger.

Relationships:

  • Lin's mom/ Mrs Allard- She actually really respects her and values her opinion over others so it broke her heart when her mother disowned her and her views. She hasn't gotten in touch with her after getting herself kicked out.
  • Lin's dad/ Mr. Cho- the last memory of her dad and her in France was when she was five. He still awkwardly treated her like a little girl at first when she first arrived in Japan but they realized quickly that it wasn't working for them. Soft spoken and hardworking, he tries very hard to get to know his daughter and make the best of it.

RP type: I usually hang around in discord more. RP style is in lit or script but do keep in mind I have a slight dyslexia so pardon my constant grammatical errors and slow typing. English isn't my first language, I'm a total newb at speaking French, and I don't speak Japanese at all but I do appreciate constructive criticism always.
