Description The clichΓ©d long exposure shot I can remember how cold it was, a good -20 Celsius, and me and Michal (my cousin) were standing there taking 30-120 second exposures People passing by were giving us weird looks.

Anyway, this is the town square of Pakosc, Poland.

I like this alot because even with a long exposure you did a really good job of getting enough color and brightness, with out succumbing to noise and lack of sharpness.

I like the colors on this one... The car lights are somehow blue, which is cool, and it fits with the building.
Do you use a Star light filter?

Ah, this is amazing.

It's not cliche at all! What makes this more original is the colour of the lights... I think it's fantastic how there is an electrified feel, almost. The lights are pretty intense in the way they are shaped and.. yeah, it's interesting how the buildings are lit up as well.

I do feel it's a shame that there isn't more.. Part of me feels that you could have moved the camera more to the right as a result, but it's a good piece regardless of that.

Not bad! Certainly, the atmosphere is something I think.

Rygas In reply to 3wyl [2011-06-22 10:26:55 +0000 UTC]

Ha, I tried! I hate all the orangey-toned nightime shots, at least by having the temperature of this shot really low I could get some cold tones and look a little bit more original! And that also made the light streaks look much more interesting than pure white or off white I took several exposures and I had one where we could a lot of traffic, and very interesting curves and shapes, however...it seems something went wrong since the image came out kinda blurry

If I moved to the right, the building there would obstruct the depth of the street, right now you can see all the way down the road, up to where a bend tucks it behind some buildings I think that way we can see a longer streak and it looks fine

Atmosphere? It was great! -20, rubbing my hands together(I had to take my gloves off to operate the camera), wishing we could go home and drink a hot cup of tea already!

That's a fair point.

True...

Oh right, I see.. Hmm... Perhaps it is due to practice and all? Or rather, maybe you could figure it out if you practiced a bit more?

Ah, I see. That's understandable.

Woah... that's freezing.
