Hey, how do you make such lovely effects with the light? It really looks like it's glowing, but no matter how hard I try, I can't obtain a similar effect.

While you may perceive it as glowing, it's really because the eye has to be tricked when it comes to pictures that are of the same light-strength all across. This means working with contrast and the surrounding areas. If you want to practice, look at photos of bright things (or take them yourself) and study how the colour and depth of colour is distributed close to the light-sources, this will give you an idea.


Not only is it about contrast, but about flares and every other side-effect that naturally occurs but that you don't automatically think of, giving the impression.
