I already noticed it on your last painting, but you should start to fade out distant objects, like for example the tree on the right and in general always check your values. The more distant sth is to the camera, the darker it will be. This will help you create even more realistic and intriguing environments ^-^

A wonderful ship that was once the best of its kind, but it began to wear down until it was eventually retired and replaced by a new ship called the Edge (which was actually worse than the Explorer despite being the successor).

people always look for the negative with someone else's artwork, but my thing is can they paint like this? If not then they can't really say anything lol. Your artwork is pretty awesome

I think the perspective is skewed.
First, the ship is too big to be sailing through a marshy wetland. Second, it seems to be sailing directly toward a hummock, upon which it will flounder. Third, it's not a sailboat, so it has to be driven by fuel - is it coal? Wood? Nuclear? Whatever it is, there should be an exhaust vent, or some sign of steam/smoke coming from it.
The background reflections off the water are really well done, but you went a bit loopy with all the birds. The details on the trees are excellent in the foreground (left and right). Some of the foreground elements look rushed, however.
I really like your work overall - I've looked at a number of your paintings and came away impressed. I did not like this one as much. That said, it's still a helluva lot better than anything I could do, so take it with a grain of salt, and understand that I'm offering my tuppence as a critique, not a criticism.
A suggestion: watch clips of the African Queen with Humphrey Bogart. That will give you a bit of perspective of what a marsh runner would look like.
Cheers.

You're most welcome & thank you for the clarification.
I would add, if it has been grounded for years, the boat likely would be tilted to one side. Perhaps you could add a dark gash along the keel to give it that 'shipwreck' feel?

I think this one is really beautiful but for me the bottom of the picture looks like it was done really quickly. It's not detailed and it just don't fit. It's just my opinion, yours can be different. (sorry for my bad English, I hope you know what I mean)
