While she is actually a woman, she gained her abilities from a male spirit who is still consious of what she does. 

His names Galahad, knight of the round table, son of Lancelot and is also adorable.

I've heard that this character is supposed to be a trap in some way, but it just sounds like any kind of sexual altercation would automatically result into a threesome with this one.

Sorta? Its complicated.
Think of it more like, "Oh hey your dieing. Here take my powers so you'll live. Im gonna be in a coma inside your soul till you need me. Kay bye!"
The easiest way to describe it is a split personality that vaugely knows whats going on but isn't actually 'their'. 
Is he considered a Trap even if you can tell hes a man at first glance? I personally say hes more of a 'pretty guy' then a trap.

its explained more clearly in the TV show im going off memory mostly. The game explains it the best however.
He actually has an Alter version as well if you want to know more. Different series however, not Grand order, cant remember the name
