Description
An old sketch of a xeno that I pulled out of a sketchbook. No reference, just trying to go off how I have memorized them in my head. I will possibly try to start doing more alien and predator art if there is enough interest.Related content

Very well done...but I have an idea you can come up with something better, more original, than Giger's monstrosity. Worth some thought, anyhow...

Thanks! But you can't top the master. Giger struck gold with the alien concept and it has been one of the most influential creatures that I've had in my art career to date.

I like to think I can top Giger's Alien design, at least art-wise. I'll likely not achieve his fame or money, but I do have an unusual imagination. And I think you can top him...or me!...too.

Well thank you. But the alien is one of the most elegant and dare I say... sexy designs for a monster I've ever seen. Plus Giger kinda pioneered the whole biomechanical flesh and machine thing. I know I'll never top the master but I will use him as inspiration.

Whether you'll ever top him is not the point. I think I can top him, but not in his style and not with his creatures. Even if I'm just fooling myself, that bit of self-skullduggery allows me to expand my art beyond what I otherwise would ever be able to do. It allows me to admire Giger, for example, to get inspiration from him, and to advance myself. Success? That's another story, money-wise. That is not something I can control right now, so it does not enter my self-evaluation concerning my art.
I do not lack humility. One of the reasons I think the way I do is to keep jealousy of anyone's talent far away from my psyche, and, IF it gets close, to use it to better myself, instead of tearing the other artist down to make myself feel better. I speak from experience; I've seen what the green-eyed monster can do to people.
In other words, Ryno, I am encouraging you to not limit yourself.
