With the success of those Zelda Shots I did getting attention on Kotaku, I had the idea of creating some HD Metroid Shots as well.
So here, we have Samus hunting Underground somewhere...
This shot is actually made of two screenshots, one with two lamps shining on Samus and one without. By combining them together I was able to give her a nice, dramatic rim lighting effect.

Yeah, and you can't download any models for Gmod unless you get it from there.

While the rim lighting looks good, it starts to get to me after a little while that there doesn't seem to be any source for it. There's nowhere in the scene for light at that angle to be coming from, and that detracts a little--but only a little. Overall, an enjoyable piece.
