I have so much fun with traditional art while I'm at school.

Well, in the true tradition of nymphomaniac Star Wars fans everywhere, it was only so long before I came out with at Twi'lek dancer. So here she is. Along with a little writeup I wrote while bored in class.

Although most well known as slaves to the galaxy, Twi'leks danced for themselves first. Their homeworld of Ryloth is unique in the universe as it does not rotate on it's axis. The side facing the sun is half molten, a scorching desert. The side that is eternally night is frozen, an unliveable glacier, leaving only the thin band of twilight as a habitable section of the planet, forcing the Twi'lek people to burrow underground into vast subterranian tunnels.

Occasionally, harsh winds from the Day whip into a ferocious storm, raging into the Night, creating a whirling malestrom that freezes as fast as it melts, violently altering the frozen landscape.

This deadly and breathaking occurance has inspired one of the most demanding traditional dances of the Twi'lek. It is a dizzying, intense performance, lekku, limbs, and long flowing fabrics emulating the whirling, devastating storms.
