Description From Anno Astra...

VMC-101 Aguila

Developed for the Hispanians by CASA & Thyssen-Henschel, the Aguila was designed to be a highly maneuverable light MS suited for high-speed dogfighting and long-range recon and patrol roles. To this end, Thyssen-Henschel decided to use medium MS-rated powerplants mounted onto a light MS chassis. Unfortunately, in order to keep its mass down, the Aguila has donwgraded ballistic protection, its armour (except for the torso plates) barely enough to stop glancing shots and shrapnel from close-proximity detonations. Its I-field beam barrier, though, is equivalent to that of a medium MS.

The 'Garra Rifle' is a high-powered coilgun developed specifically for the Aguila. It fires semi-automatically with variable-velocity settings. Its long-range potential, large barrel diameter and powerful recoil--in spite of the buffer system--make it a weapon for the expert. Various types of ammunition range the gamut from general-purpose explosive rounds to highly specialized anti-armour ammunition with memory-shape properties--the projectiles change their shape depending on how much acceleration or deceleration they experience.

The Aguila has multiple main optic sensors, the most noticeable being the large, multifaceted units on either side of its 'head.'

Depicted is the personal mobile suit of Teniente (Lieutenant) Isabela Cortez, 'Señorita de la Muerte.' As is, it lacks any of its standard external payload, such as spare magazines and active defense arrays.

As a member of the Hispanian 3rd S.O.G.’s elite Rapid Reaction Company, Lt. Cortez has the privilege of using her own colour & decorative scheme. The kill marks on the Garra Rifle’s barrel indicates her MS kills with this particular machine.

Very impressive. I like how it looks simple and "clean looking" at first, but the more I stare at it, the more details I find. It's a enat deisgn, looks functional, not too heavy but sturdy enough and really good for customizing. Also, the shape of the head, very orignal, there aren't many mechas out there with that style of visual sensors.

DAmn, tnat is handsome. I like how sturdy the main torso makes it look, quite a "block" configuration. I seriously doubt any light fire would bring this one down.

This is sweet Looks like you've pretty much gone full CG paint as well. I find doing my stuff full Wacom the best way to get the results I want I dig!

Thanks! Your work's actually one of the reasons why I decided to go full CG paint.

But I still haven't gotten a tablet, so it's oh so sloooow doing everything with a mouse.

O_O You did that with a mouse, crazy man Impressive and you're more than welcome. Cool, didn't know my stuff inspired you to go that route (I'll have some new full paint mecha and such soon), it looks great man and really wild you're doing it with a mouse. You get a Wacom and you're gonna rock even crazier I wager

I'll get things done faster with a Wacom, that's for sure!

Terribly sorry for the awful slow reply here, been crazy busy of late which is why I've posted so little this summer, all non disclosure related work. Yeah you'll love it when you do get a Wacom, things will breeze for you seeing as how you got so skilled with a mouse. I'm more than sure you're gonna kick some ass with a tablet, I honestly feel you're doing that now as it is I'm somewhat clear of gigs for the moment so I should be here on Deviant more of late with a lot of new work to post. Take care man, always great stuff you're doing

Same to you!

I haven't been on much until today either, for much the same reasons. That and my resources took a dent when certain components in my PC went belly-up. Not the hard disk, though, thank goodness!

I so hear you, had a hard disk scare awhile back myself but thankfully I also dodged that bullet. I now have an external 250 gig backup so I'm doing pretty good on space. I did have to get a new cord for my Wacom this week though, it just crapped out on me, thank God it wasn't the tablet itself. I could afford to replace it but it's not like I want to.

Wonderful Work!
I really love the color scheme of this one, and the words you used on the machine and it's pilot are great , i'm from a Spanish Talking country so i do understand 'em and they are a great choice, like "The Nightmare of Solomon for Gato" and "Ed The Ripper" the "Señorita de la Muerte" is really a nickname/title of that level, and "Fuego!" in the Rifle is just priceless XD

I really like how well you did the idea of a "Light Type" MS and keep the desing to be like one...the only thing i kinda don't agree with is the name "Aguila", it's a cool name, but i think that it suits better for a "Flying Light" MS (Even if it may sounds cliche)

Still this is a great job so i'll just it :3

Yeah, I feel that it helps with the 'suspension of disbelief' thing, and I had the background worked out beforehand.

Very good story about this mech. Also I love that you put some Veitnam war flare to it by putting words on the body. I also love the head design. it looks like a fusion of a Gundam and a armored core unit with a bit of a spider head inspiration.

Very nice job on this one.
