Description Yeah, and that's what i call Stylish Short Version and lower resolution, all thanks goes to my PC. Hail 3GB of ram

But seriously, when i get myself on extra 1GB or even more (though i don't want to change onto 64-bit system) then a normal resolution from me (500x282) will be given to you. For now only medium which is 300x169.

And of course the full version will be there some day, probably with the day of 4GB in my PC.

Tools used:
- Adobe Photoshop CS5
- Media Player Classic
- FastStone Capture v.6.8

I DO NOT OWN ANYTHING HERE. THE FINAL FANTASY IS COPYRIGHTED BY SQUARE-ENIX. I ONLY MADE THE GIF.

I'm not that good with animations, and I do like when it's original. Those might be fun, but it's not my style

Not a problem, only a suggestion. But It would be cool if done right ey?

RyuMakkuro In reply to StephenRSpiteri [2011-08-22 12:54:31 +0000 UTC]

Like I said, it's not in my style. I like it in original way. If there would be 9999 flashes then it would have to be movie, not a gif. At least in my opinion.

I've seen some HUUUUGE Gif animations on deviant art before, but usualy they are just a couple of frames. I see what you mean though.

RyuMakkuro In reply to StephenRSpiteri [2011-08-22 13:08:45 +0000 UTC]

This one has almost 600 frames, and I am uploading right now full version of the Omnislash which has over 600 frames (621 if I remember correctly). The sheer number of frames makes it very hard to create high resolution gifs.

Obviously, it would take ages to load properly and smoothly.

Just loading would be long on this site, but creating it is the harder part for PC. I have 3GB of ram and am not able to do this gif in 500xsomething resolution.

What about flash?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RyuMakkuro In reply to StephenRSpiteri [2011-08-22 16:48:30 +0000 UTC]

I do only gifs. Don't like much flash and all that. Besides it's better in gif, because it's "smaller" in size. Flash would be bigger in size. But I do all in Photoshop, the quality is good and I don't mind that it's resolution is only this much. No one else has done gifs in this resolution, so I still have the upper hand in resolution

StephenRSpiteri In reply to RyuMakkuro [2011-08-22 17:20:07 +0000 UTC]

Do you use layers for animation? Thats how I do it whenever I make a gif, but in gimp.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RyuMakkuro In reply to StephenRSpiteri [2011-08-22 17:40:48 +0000 UTC]

In PS, it's more like you use layers for storing things that will be used in animation (for example screenshots) and then simply create frame and hide visibility of those frames that you don't want to see, leaving only the one you want visible. Or if there is no transparency then hide visibility of those that are over the one you want to see. It may sound complicated but it's so easy and boring as hell, that the biggest trouble in making it, is to not get killed from boredom. It's really just copy paste method mostly.

StephenRSpiteri In reply to RyuMakkuro [2011-08-22 17:55:25 +0000 UTC]

Like I said, I've tried it before and yes if its a long animation it gets boring especially if your using external footage from a film using snapshots.

RyuMakkuro In reply to StephenRSpiteri [2011-08-22 19:14:16 +0000 UTC]

For gifs I do recommend using Photoshop, even though resolution will be probably lower, but the quality is much much better. It's really clear when you do gifs, that PS is the best graphic program in it's kind. Gimp can't even compare to that.

StephenRSpiteri In reply to RyuMakkuro [2011-08-23 06:06:36 +0000 UTC]

But its really expensive, have you tried the internet version, is it worth it? I do have PS but I need to re install it.

RyuMakkuro In reply to StephenRSpiteri [2011-08-23 09:17:09 +0000 UTC]

Let's say I have a version from a friend, didn't had to pay for it. But if I would have money I would buy it. Unfortunately I live in a country where the price of most things is not very appropriate to the amount of money normal person gets.

StephenRSpiteri In reply to RyuMakkuro [2011-08-23 09:21:17 +0000 UTC]

Oh I see, The thing is that there will always be cheeper (and sometimes free) ways to be productive. Yes Photoshop is of high standards but its highly unlickely one will use all the tools available for their line of work.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RyuMakkuro In reply to StephenRSpiteri [2011-08-23 09:25:41 +0000 UTC]

The same goes for gimp, and every graphic tool there is. If your doing just one type of thing you won't use all tools, but it's the quality of those things you do that matters, and because of that PS is the best. I used gimp myself, but the quality of Photoshop is simply astonishing.

As in the results or the product?

RyuMakkuro In reply to StephenRSpiteri [2011-08-23 12:13:44 +0000 UTC]

Result and product. PS costs that much because it has a lot of things other programs don't and does all things better than others. That's the truth.

StephenRSpiteri In reply to RyuMakkuro [2011-08-23 12:35:52 +0000 UTC]

True, but sometimes being better for having more isnt everything right? Dont get me wrong, its a one heck of a toolkit but it really all depends on the user in the end.

RyuMakkuro In reply to StephenRSpiteri [2011-08-23 13:01:50 +0000 UTC]

Like I said, Photoshop is better because of quality. Quantity is the second better part, but most important is quality. It really came to while I was making gifs. I couldn't believe how much better they looked.

It's not only the amount, it's more like the quality of that amount. You may use only few of them (like me), but the very tools are better than in any other program. That's the most important thing.
