A gift for my darling, this is Skyward Sword's Zelda. I do plan on a full-scale Zelda later on (but right now, I'm recovering from strep throat and can't really handle bigger drawings) but here's a piece of the gift for now ^^SS Zelly was certainly different than what I expected, but she really grew on me when I saw a couple bits with her and she smiles a LOT! A great change from the mostly serious TP version. (don't get me wrong, I like the TP version, but I just happen to like it more when Zelly smiles) She's always looking at Link with a ^__^ face. She's adorable!

I noticed that too! I think it's actually nice to see her smile more. I also especially like her simplistic design. It's refreshing to see something simple (outside of Toon!Zeldas) for a change. And I like how it's not really princessy yet has the details that show a higher status. I think you did a wonderful job on her chibi. Really reflects the Zelda we saw in the SS trailer.

I'm told that the reason she's not princess-y is because the "Royal Family" hasn't yet been established, so Zelda's not a princess yet...? I hear Skyward Sword is supposed to pre-date all the other LoZ games. I have to say, it did take me a bit to get used to the new design 'cause as my love described, she's more Malon-ish. But how can you resist that adorable smile and happy attitude?

That's what I kinda felt from it too. It seemed more like she was a citizen of Skyloft with a high status in the village. So I can get behind the idea that she's not yet a princess. I honestly think Skyward Sword is going to be a treat for us. Just going off the idea that the Master Sword's beginning is explained as well as the idea Hyrule is not yet settled, is making for some interesting storytelling. And I do agree, she does appear Malon-ish. Almost Egyptian as many people have described as well. :>
Tad off-topic, I have to say, SS Zelda reminded me a lot of Renny with her smiling.

I thought part of the Master Sword was explained in ALttP... been ages since I played that game, but maybe this will be more interesting.
High status or not, Zelda's most likely the prettiest girl in Skyloft. ^^
