Yeah I am relatively new at this type of drawing, but here it is, my first go at drawing one of the battleships in my setting.Related content

Windows male little sense on a spaceship, particularly this one, since the crew is no where near the outer hull, sorry, but i put practicality before looks.
Also there is the species whom built the ship. they have a preference for building simple but reliable ship's, with little consideration for appearance. Ironic considering that they are a feline race, yet do not give a shit about vanity. But either way, the simplistic look is done on purpose. Plus the damn thing is 2.5 kilometers long, small details aren't really visible on a ship of this size. Yeah pretty much the opposite of warhammer 40k in that regard.

an unnecessary weakness, the hull of the ship is bonded together on the molecular level, so there are no individual plates on the outer hull layer, its all simply one piece. having multiple plates would make it weaker than it simply being one piece. the prevalence of matter energy replication technology makes this construction method practical.

while windows wouldn't really be needed the ship would need maintainance hatches so people can repair the outer hull without entering drydock, and it probably would have docking bays so things can be loaded and unloaded off the ship

Given its size, I was being a bit conservative on the detail, however this particular design has been updated. But the hangar bays are on the very rear of the ship, and not visible from this particular angle.

Its a space ship, and it acts as such, rear coverage is not really necessary, with an engine system, that can accelerate a ship in any direction, regardless of the direction that the nose is facing. Average combat distances also occur at 25 to 50 light seconds. Staying on someones rear at that distance is impossible. So no the main guns don't really have the ability to cover the rear, however the battleship does have numerous vertically launched missiles that can cover in any direction.
